 What does the "A" mean in the engine number?

The engine number is different for every engine. In the case of the 420A the 4 represents four cylinders and the 20 is an Engine Designator the A is also an Engine Designator.

 Is shipping included ?

No, shipping charges are not included 

 How much would shipping cost me?

The shipping cost will depend on your location and the weight of your engine. Usually we recommend shipping to a business address (with a forklift), shipping to a residential address will cost more. We can find a terminal/dock near you upon request.

 When do I receive my engine?

It will depend on several factors; model, year, and availability of the engine, and if it’s a customized, a rebuilt or a stock engine

 Core

 What is a core?

Your old engine IS the core. When replacing your old engine with a factory remanufactured one, we require that you exchange your old engine (core)

 Is the core charge included in final price?

No it is not included but we will tell you about the core charge before giving you the final price

 Why do you charge a core deposit?

We really want your core. If we charge you for the core deposit, that way we are protected that you will send your core to us in order to get your deposit back

 What should I do when Im ready to send you my core?

You should call us before, and we will arrange a pick-up and also we will do a paper work (BOL -bill of lading) for you

 Terms

 What is a short block?

A short block is only the bottom half of the engine consisting of the block, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons and rings

 What is a long block?

A long block consists of the short block and it also includes the cylinder head, timing components, oil pump and installation gasket set. Usually a long block is sold as a remanufactured engine

 My new engine

 What else do I need to buy when I have my engine installed?

Generally, it’s a good idea to replace:

Ø Belts
Ø Hoses
Ø Thermostat
Ø PCV Valve
Ø Oil
Ø Oil Filter
Ø Engine Coolant/Antifreeze
Ø Water Pump
    , and also have your radiator cleaned out or replaced

 What is the proper break-in procedure for my new engine?

Your engine requires special care during its break-in period to insure proper performance for years to come. We strongly recommend that you follow these tips during the first 600 miles:
Ø Do not drive over 55 mph
Ø Do not drive for long periods of time at any single speed, always vary speed
Ø Do not drive slowly with the transmission in high gear
Ø Do not tow a trailer or put other heavy loads on the vehicle

 What about the installation?

It's very important that you check on your installer's experience with replacing engines. Replacing an engine is a skillful and complex task requiring knowledgeable and experienced people. Improper installation can cause big problems.
